Chelsy’s exposure to luxury tourism stretches back decades; her experience culminated within the ranks of her family’s own luxury lodges on the banks of the Zambezi River. Coordination of these establishments provided Chelsy a unique appreciation and profound understanding of this exclusive industry. Aya Africa was born from a deep desire to manifest her own brand, her own style of African tourism, using the knowledge and experience gained within her family industry.

A fourth generation Zimbabwean, Chelsy has lived in Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa and Mauritius and travelled extensively around other pockets of the continent, exploring its assorted landscapes and immersing herself in the cultures of its people. Examination of countries like Mozambique, Uganda and Tanzania has provided Chelsy with a unique insight into the abundance of Africa. Her kinship for these countries has driven her determination to share Africa with the world.
